breeding alpacas, Fiber males
do not sell with breeding rights.

Only 5-10% of the alpaca
males born in the U.S. are truly
herdsire material.

The remaining  90-95% of
alpaca males are typically
gelded and are prized as fiber
producers.  

What might be considered a
conformational or genetic fault
to a breeder, such as blue
eyes, knocked knees, short
neck, or long legs, has
absolutely no bearing on the
quality of the alpaca's fiber.
